Bryan Lin

A native of New Jersey, Bryan Lin (b. 1991) is a composer based in San Francisco. His works have been performed by the Lehigh University Philharmonic Orchestra, Lehigh Valley Repertory Jazz Orchestra, Monocacy Chamber Orchestra, Dirac String Quartet, San Francisco Conservatory of Music’s New Music Ensemble, and San Francisco Choral Artists. Bryan’s voice as a composer is frequently influenced by his love for jazz, with an affinity for chamber and vocal music. An avid educator, Bryan also works in the SFJAZZ Education department, visiting schools around the Bay Area to assist their jazz programs and serve as an instructor for saxophone, clarinet, and piano students.

In 2013, Bryan graduated with honors from Lehigh University in Bethlehem, PA with his B.A. in Music and B.S. in Mechanical Engineering, where he studied composition with Paul Salerni and Steven Sametz, as well as jazz composition with Bill Warfield. Additional studies include piano with Eugene Albulescu and saxophone with Dave Riekenberg. He is currently pursuing his M.M. in Composition at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music and studies with David Garner. He has participated in masterclasses with Chen Yi, Aaron Jay Kernis, and Caroline Shaw.
