Rachael Swanson

Rachael holds a B.M. in Music Education from Youngstown State University. Her recent endeavors include a semester spent in Newcastle, Australia studying oboe under the direction of Linda Walsh and Baroque music under Rosalind Halton. In addition to her oboe studies, she co-authored the article "An oboist’s journey - improving velopharyngeal control through exercises" on palate deficiencies in musicians.

Rachael holds a B.M. in Music Education from Youngstown State University. Her recent endeavors include a semester spent in Newcastle, Australia studying oboe under the direction of Linda Walsh and Baroque music under Rosalind Halton. As a performer, Ms. Swanson has served as a guest artist in groups such as the Youngstown Symphony Orchestra, Warren Philharmonic, Cleveland Opera Circle, Greenville Symphony, Packard Band and Strathfield Symphony in Sydney, Australia on oboe and English horn. Her teachers include Dr. Tedrow Perkins, Shawn Reynolds, Cynthia Warren, Linda Walsh and Russ deLuna of the San Francisco Symphony Orchestra.

She currently attends the San Francisco Conservatory of Music earning a master’s degree in oboe performance.
